So5oS Event and Project

Exciting news for Docker's Guild fans! This year I celebrated 50 years of insanity and realized that almost none of the songs that I wrote, arranged and recorded on my different project or as a special guests on others' albums have ever been performed live. So I decided to celebrate my 50th bday by playing a couple songs from each project at a special event. The project is appropriately called So5oS and will include about 30 special guests, mostly friends an colleagues that have played with me in the last 43 years of music :) The set will include 5 Docker's Guild songs taken from all albums, including a preview of Die Today, a new song that will appear on Season 2 and has never been heard before. We will also play material from Bright Shadow, Anatema, Spleen, Dirty Secrets, Biloxi, Mio, Area 51, Rustfield, Shining Line, Frantic Amber, Tony Mills and the Vivaldi Metal Project.

January 11, 2018, 21:30 at the Al Luppolo Saloon in Roletto, northwestern Italy. FREE admission!

Vivaldi Metal Project

Great news regarding the Vivaldi Metal Project!

Prog legend Rick Wakeman (Yes) joins the project, which means I will be sharing keyboard duties with "the master". This is a truly humbling experience for me as well as a huge, unexpected honor.

In December I also finished arranging and recording my contribution to the Vivaldi Metal Project. I'm very happy and proud about the feedback I got :). Thank you Vivaldi Metal Project for having me on board!

" "Hi Douglas.
first of all .... GREAT ... EPIC ... MAJESTIC !!! Perfectly spectacular! Considering that this is only the demo ... when we'll record it with musicians it will be the apotheosis !!!

What to add .. I really love it, great job with vocals and choir as well as it buzzed in my head and exactly how I figured the opening of the opera! Accurate and logical arrangement to create that symphonic and epic Metal (but not tawdry) as I wanted ... You made me happy and I think you will make happy as well all those that will hear it!!

As for the vocals "building-up" you get a 10/10! Concerning the lyrics, the idea and the "quotes" and "literary references" are the best you could have done!

Douglas really awesome work, you made me very happy as I think Alberto ... here you showed top-class skills!

I would have wished that Mr. Antonio Vivaldi could listen... Bye for now, gonna to listen it again...

All the best,

Special Guest on Frantic Amber's New Album

Here's my little contribution to the world of extreme metal. Frantic Amber, melodic death metal band from Sweden with a 3/4 female lineup, have announced the release date for their debut album on September 17. I guested on two tracks playing keyboards and orchestral arrangements. Check them out on their Official Website!

Lead guitarist Mio Jäger will also be featured on 4 tracks on the upcoming Docker's Guild album, and co-wrote "The Secret of DNA" and "The Gem of Love" from the debut album "Season 1".
